Strike Lake Adit Site

Location

The Strike Lake mine site is located on the north shore of Strike Lake, one kilometre north of Ace Lake and five kilometres from the former Eldorado town site.

General Description

Strike Uranium Mines Limited acquired the Strike Lake claims in 1950. Diamond drilling and testing took place between 1952 and 1953. An adit was excavated in 1953 to further explore the site’s northwest region.

In 1954, New Imperial Mines Limited acquired the property and continued drilling and testing. Rock Hill Uranium Limited conducted trenching and surveying the next year. In 1969, 54.4 tonnes of ore were shipped to the Lorado Uranium Mill for processing.

The site was prospected for precious metals between 1966 and 1978, but no significant concentrations of these metals were found.

The site is accessible by a gravel road from the Eldorado town site. The adit is blocked by a wooden door.
