National Explorations Keiller Adit Site

Location

The National Explorations Keiller Adit site is located along the shores of Foot Bay on Donaldson Lake.

General Description

In 1957, National Explorations Ltd. excavated an adit along a flat lying shear zone. Uranium mineralization was found to be erratic and exploration ceased.

The mine site is accessible by boat or by a trail along the shore of Foot Bay on Donaldson Lake. The adit is found along an overgrown trail that branches off from the trail to the National Explorations Pat Claim mine site toward Donaldson Lake.

The adit was driven into a hillside 15 metres above Donaldson Lake’s shoreline. The adit’s entrance is barricaded with a grate made from steel drill rods and wire rope. A small amount of waste rock remains near the adit’s entrance. Steel debris, lumber, and other mining debris is scattered across the site.
