On October 8, 2009 members of the Northern Saskatchewan
Environmental Quality Committee and representatives from
Saskatchewan Research Council toured the former
Gunnar Mine Site.

A public meeting was held on October 7, 2009 in Uranium City.
The meeting was co-hosted with Cameco.

A public meeting was held in Uranium City on May 6, 2009 to discuss the work that will take place in 2009
at the satellite sites. CLEANS Project Manager, Aaron MacDonell gave a presentation and answered
questions from members of the public. Posters with information about each satellite site were on display
for residents to look at and comment on.

 

A public meeting was held in Uranium City in
mid-November 2008 to update area residents on

work completed during the 2008 season and to share
information about proposed project for 2009. Material
presented at the meeting is available in the
Publications section of this site. 

  

SRC participated in a public meeting hosted by the
Canadian Environmental Assessment Agency in May 2008.
The meeting was held in Uranium City to discuss the draft
Project Specific Guidelines for the Gunnar Mine Site.

In April 2008, a public meeting was held in 
Uranium City to discuss the remediation
options for the five abandoned uranium mines
sites identified for the summer 2008 work season.

In January 2008, a meeting was held for contractors who might be interested in working on cleaning up the sites. Contractors learned about requests for proposals (RFPs) and how they can bid on work.

 

SRC representatives met with northern Saskatchewan residents in Uranium City in 2007 to talk about the project and about which sites community members thought should be cleaned up first.
